Confirmation strengthens (“confirms”) the grace of Baptism with a special outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Aided by this sacrament, a confirmed Catholic is joined more closely to the Church, and is empowered to be a more effective witness of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The confirmation Mass will take place at 7:00pm at St. Benedict Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 29th. Confirmand and their sponsors are asked to arrive at 6:15pm for practice. All are asked to enter through the front doors of the church located on Sheppard Street.

Sign-Up Instructions:

St. Benedict Church is adhering to all Diocesan regulations, including social distancing, while in the church. Therefore, the church is marked off in sections for families and individuals. You are asked to sit in the section assigned to you for the evening.

For liturgical and sacramental celebrations that are not open to the general public or parish population and not celebrated during a normal Sunday public Mass, individuals may be seated next to each other, not observing social distancing, at their discretion if they are members of the same family, close friends, or travel together to the liturgy. This includes sponsors sitting with the confirmand and their family.

At this time, due to limiting seating, we ask that only the immediate families of the confirmand and their sponsors come to Mass.

Before registering, please converse with the sponsor to ascertain if they will be sitting with the confirmand and family. Please keep in mind seating is limited inside the Church.

Masks are required at all times inside the church for anyone age 10 and above.

There are two sign-up forms below. While the questions may seem redundant, it is important that all information be provided since seating is so limited inside the church and this will help us to figured out seating before you arrive.

The first form is for the family of the confirmand. Please register only those in the immediate family and include the confirmand in your head count. There is a questions about if the sponsor is immediate family living inside the same household. If they are not immediate family, please have the sponsor complete the second form "Sponsor Registration." The reason for this is that the sponsor must answer the screening questions for themselves found on the second page of the form.
