CANTORS

“Be filled with the Spirit,

addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,

singing and playing to the Lord in your hearts,

giving thanks always and everywhere

in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God the Father.”

— Ephesians 5:19–20

The role of cantors is to foster active participation in the Holy Mass by leading the Responsorial Psalm and the other chants and hymns. Cantors sing at weekend Masses throughout the year. Training for cantors is scheduled individually.
